Ward & Co trainees sail through ACCA and ACA exams, strengthening local career opportunities
North Devon – September 2026
Five trainees at North Devon accountancy firm Ward & Co are celebrating excellent results in their professional accountancy examinations, marking another successful step in their careers while reinforcing the firm’s commitment to developing local talent.
The trainees have been studying towards internationally recognised ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) qualifications alongside their roles at Ward & Co.
Their success highlights the opportunities available to young people and aspiring accountants who want to build a rewarding professional career without having to leave North Devon.
Ward & Co believes strongly in investing in people and providing a pathway for local talent to develop the skills, qualifications and experience needed to build a successful long-term career close to home.
John Ward of Ward & Co said:
“We are incredibly proud of the five trainees and the hard work they have put into achieving these results. Professional accountancy qualifications require commitment, determination and plenty of study alongside a demanding working environment, so their success is a fantastic achievement.
“At Ward & Co, we believe that people shouldn’t have to leave North Devon to find a good career. We want to give local people the opportunity to train, qualify and progress within a successful professional firm while remaining part of the community they call home.”
The firm combines formal professional training with practical experience, allowing trainees to develop their technical knowledge while working directly with clients and gaining an understanding of the realities of professional accountancy.
For the five trainees, passing their examinations represents an important milestone in their professional journeys — and for Ward & Co, it is further evidence of the value of investing in the next generation of local professionals.
Ward & Co is continuing to support career development within the firm and is keen to encourage people in North Devon who are considering accountancy as a career to explore the opportunities available.
